neith weaves
these wild style shirts began with several yards of a slightly heavier weight 55% hemp 45% organic cotton knit jersey i’d put aside, as the creamy natural color and the drape of it was exceptionally soft and sweet……. on a sunny spring day i laid the fabric out on the grass, on top of an old sheet / drop cloth, set a table out with a rainbow of dye colors, paint brushes and squirt bottles, and had a fun afternoon adding color to this big piece of fabric (about 4 1/2 feet by 9 feet)……… spirals speckles splashes lines curves circles dots and whatever else felt fluid… the fabric was then dried and washed and sat in my stash pile for a while
this winter i made these three shirts from the fabric, while studying ancient egpytian magic, zen teachings, the tao and psychedelics….. after cutting and sewing, i hand painted the hieroglyph for the mother goddess neith - who ‘weaves the world on her shuttle’ - the fabric of reality and the fabric we clothe our beings with… i then surrounded her in a pyramid / triangle, added bands around each arm, and on the other side the ankh and name of the protective goddess serket, to represent the life serkets we each are, woven from luminous strands of dna and stardust……… the colors and shapes are psychedelic in tone, they are how i creatively envision particles and waves in physics and remind me of how terence mckenna describes the dmt dimension… this multi-dimensional, quantum, egyptian, psychedelic tone resonates thru these simple shirts, with an intent to inspire awareness and exploration of higher dimensions of consciousness
these tops are bright, colorful, unusual and flashy, but comfy, soft and fun, as you can get lost in the fabric, just looking at the way various shapes and colors intersect and overlap… the silver paint adds a nice highlight and compliments the warmer tone of the shirt with a bright metallic vibe
each shirt is reversible, where you can wear either side / symbol to the front or back and is a very simple universal cut with loose fit, strait wide sleeves (which look really cool when they are rolled, with the fabric contrasting itself) and roomy neck… there are three shirts in this set and each is an absolutely one of a kind hand made hand dyed hand painted creation… the fabric was dyed with low impact fiber reactive dyes for maximum spectral vibrance over the duration, and the shirts were hand painted with high quality silver fabric paint, patiently heat set, washed and ready to wear
this is a collection of three shirts - two are available, and i’m keeping one ;) includes a hand signed / dated hemp paper tag, attached with hemp yarn i hand dyed

the mother goddess neith creates the world through weaving / weaves the universe on her shuttle

the ankh is the symbol of life - the life force, eternal life, vitality, the sun, fertility, light
serket is a protective goddess, guarding against scorpion and snake bites, ‘she who causes the throat to breathe’ and is often seated at the foot of isis…… personally, because of the name / tone she also clearly resonates and relates to circuits and technology, and to me provides protective qualities needed in the digital realm as well
these symbols are powerful and i feel they accentuate the naturally protective / healing qualities inherent in the hemp fiber
