the workshop / studio
these clothes, tangible objects, and intangible elements all hail from a little workshop home studio - the bagua ark yome - (part yurt / part geodesic dome / part tipi) at the usnisa arts center, nestled in amongst the tall trees along the north eastern coast of the usa... the uac is a location equipped with a variety of creative living spaces / studios / work shops / labs for doing fun stuff like playing and recording live music and video, audio research and electronics, wood working, painting, drawing, making clothing, earth care and organic gardening / growing, assembling healthy whole food plant based vegan delights and numerous other experimentations and explorations… as well as quiet spots for things like yoga, contemplation, writing, study and other disciplines - a peaceful natural environment with an optimized atmosphere for creativity, imagination, inspiration, and focus... this little yome work shop is where these clothes are made, while also accommodating plenty of musical adventures, art workings, yoga and meditation
xusah was originally a hand drawn and photocopied zine - an artistic poetic paper hand out advocating a new communications vehicle called 'the web', and our personal art and music websites to local folks in an effort to encourage more people to get online (since not many were at that time)- a hard copy counterpart to a web zine interconnecting physical and digital dimensions, and functioning like an invitation for adventures into the unknown... over the years the xusah art project has morphed to become a source for artistic handmade eco clothing and a spontaneous selection of other earth friendly items - one aspect of an organic bio-spiritual lifestyle that is ever evolving
